[FIN] Kätkö sijaitsee Ulkokrunnin saarella Krunnien saaristossa Maakrunnisäätiön hallinnoimalla yksityisellä luonnonsuojelualueella. Ulkokrunnin saari sijaitsee noin kahdenkymmenen kilometrin päästä mantereelta ja sinne päästäksesi tarvitset todennäköisesti jonkin vesikulkuneuvon. Linnuston suojelun vuoksi maihinnousu saarelle on sallittu vapaasti ainoastaan Pihlajakarin satamaan, jossa on vanhoja kalastajamajoja. Siellä pitää majaansa myös Maakrunnisäätiön vartija. Liikkuminen saarella on sallittua ainoastaan 15.7. - 30.8 pitkin Pihlajakarista lähtevää luontopolkua, joka päättyy kätkön läheisyyteen (seuraa keltaisia nuolia). Matkaa Pihlajakarista kätkölle tulee vähän alle 4 kilometriä. Polun varessa kiinnostavia tutustumiskohteita ovat Äijänharjun jatulintarhat (n. N 65° 22.811' E 024° 49.057'), kivikompassi (N 65° 22.867' E 024° 49.072) ja aurinkokello (N 65° 22.995' E 024° 49.137). Polku kulkee entisen 1872 rakennetun luotsiaseman (Luotsila) ohitse. Tiloissa toimii nykyisin Oulun yliopiston Krunnien kenttäasema (asema ei ole avoinna yleisölle), jonka tontilla on saaren ensimmäinen geokätkö (Ulkokrunni). Aseman läheisyydessä sijaitsee vuonna 1874 rakennettu merimerkki, Pooki. Puinen kuusikulmainen Pooki on 29,6 metriä korkea ja maalattu nykyisin punaiseksi. Se on F. W. Lüchoun suunnittelema ja rakennettu vuonna 1874. Polku jatkuu sen ohi Pohjanharjua saaren koilliskulmaan Pookinokalle, jota hallitsee teräsrakenteinen noin 30 metriä korkea Rautapooki. Tämä entinen 1936 rakennettu merimerkki on poistettu käytöstä vuonna 1982. Sen huipun lyhtykojussa aikoinaan ollut linssikoneisto on viety sieltä pois. Pookin valaistus toimi aikanaan asetlyeenikaasulla, mutta tornin juurella ollut kaasupullosuoja on kuljetettu pois ja kaasun vientiin ylös käytetty putkisto on poistettu. [ENG] The cache is situated in the island of Ulkokrunni in the Krunnit Islands in a private nature protection area administered by Maakrunni foundation. The island is situated about twenty kilometres from the mainland, and get there you will propably need sort of boat or raft. Disembarkation to the island is allowed only into Pihlajakari harbour, where you may see old fishermen cottages and where the quardian of the Maakrunnisäätiö is based. In the island you are allowed to move only between 15th of July and 30th of August afoot using the nature path leaving from Pihlajakari (follow thw yellow signs) and ending at the cache. The walking distance to the cache from Pihlajakari is a little bit less than 4 kilometers. On the way you may see the Troy Towns (c. N 65° 22.811' E 024° 49.057'), "stone compass" (N 65° 22.867' E 024° 49.072) and sundial (N 65° 22.995' E 024° 49.137) at Äijänharju esker. The path continues besides the buildings of former pilot station (Luotsila). Luotsila has been build in 1872 and nowadays The Krunnit Field Station of the University of Oulu is operating in the buildings (the Station is not open for the visitors). In the nearhood of the station is situated the first geocache in the island (Ulkokrunni). In the vicinity of the station there is a old seamark called Pooki. Hexaconal, wooden Pooki is 29.6 meters high and nowadays painted red. It has been designed by F. W. Lüchou and build in 1874. The path continues along Pohjanharju esker and ends to the northwestern corner of the island, Pookinokka, which is dominated by a metallic about 30 m high seamark tower, Rautapooki. This former seamark withdraw from circulation in 1982. The beacon device build in 1936 which was formerly lighted with acetylene gas has been removed from the cabin. The storage room for the gas bottles and piping has also been removed. You may freely climb into the tower using the very exposed iron stairs. The view from the seamark is spectacular especially towards the northern shores, Pookinokka in west and Pohjanharju esker in east. Disbarkment on the island outside the period between 15th July and 30th August is possible with a written entry licence obtained from the Maakrunnisäätiö or local Environmental Center. If you are logging the cache at that time send a copy of your licence to the cache owner via e-mail. Otherwise your logging will not be accepted.
