The church is kept unlocked during daylight hours. It stands within
a lovely well-kept churchyard with views to the South Downs. Many
visitors remark on its peace and beauty. The same can be said of
the interior of the church, where the Whistler window can be found,
engraved in memory of the WW1 poet Edward Thomas, who lived and
wrote in Steep for a time.
The parking for this cache is also the start point for the Steep
Marsh cache series, see Steep

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I
would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he
can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid
duplication
