This cache will allow you to walk in the seaside part of
Trégastel : it can be a good companion cache to "Le Mystère des
Colonnes (GC19FVX)"
by "VCube" on the inland part of Trégastel. No mystery or surprises
there, just a nice walk along a fine coast enjoyed by locals and
tourists alike! Don't expect to be the only one enjoying granite
and sea sight!
- From the first waypoint WP1 : N48 49.761 W3 31.050,
enjoy the panorama and discover on which king's head you could
stand if you walk a few dozen meters toward the rabbits ("lapins"
in French). Let A the total number of letter in its name
added to the number of vowels.
- From there reach the next view point WP2 : N48 49.A80 W3
30.A33 by going down to the small harbour by the little path
heading north between 2 gardens and following the coastal path to
the east. From this point discover to the north the most famous
rock of Trégastel's coast and let B be the number of faces
of the rolling object (used in lots of games) that gave its name to
the rock.
- From the next point WP3 : N48 50.(A-B-1)90 W3
30.1(B+1)3, at the horizon lie the islands of the Jentilez
archipelago. Let C the number of islands in that
archipelago.
- Count the number D of holes in this characteristic
granite rock eroded by the action of the natural elements at
waypoint WP4 : N48 50.(A-B-1)(C+1)7 W3 30.(C-B-1)11.
- Go to next panoramic waypoint WP5 : N48 50.(A-B-1)(B-D)2 W3
29.A02, rest on the ideally placed bench there (made of pink
granite of course!). To the east, unless you're into night
geocaching or the weather is foggy, you'll discover the Men Ru
light house (built in pink granite). Notice the summer house
immediately at its right (guess the color of its stones!) and count
the number E of openings (doors and windows, on the walls,
the towers and the roof. Info : the next house to the right is the
"Maison du Littoral" where you may find lots of information on the
Pink Granite Coast.
- From there, reach the point N48 50.(E-A)(E-A)3 W3
30.(E+B-A-C-D)(E+B-A-C-D)1 to find the cache on a "shelf" in a
natural house with quite an impressive granite roof!
Further on, discover another kind of granite house, a megalithic
covered corridor at point N48 50.(E-A)14 W3 30.D00 (it's
located on private lands and you may have to ask for permission to
visit it in summer!).
Note: you'll have to leave the car before WP3. If you choose to
walk, you may park near the first waypoint but you'll then have to
walk uphill at the end of the walk! Alternate parking places are
near Renote Island, point P1 : N48 50.097 W3 30.551, under
the Eternel Father, point P2 : N48 49.934 W3 30.770 or close
to the Saint Anne 's bay, point P3 : N48 49.653 W3 30.619,
my favorite one to admire Sainte Anne bay and walk past the nice
little church of Trégastel village. Another options is to reach WP1
and WP2 by car then walk to the remaining waypoints. In any case,
enjoy the rocks and the view and have a nice time in Brittany!

Cette cache vous permettra de parcourir la partie cotière de la
commune de Trégastel des hauteurs de la Grève Blanche à l'ile
Renote, en complément de la cache "Le mystère des colonnes"
GC19FVX par "VCube" qui explore la partie plus "campagnarde".
Cache sans réel mystère ni surprise, simplement une promenade
contemplative appréciée par les touristes comme les gens du coin ;
aussi n'espérez pas être les seuls à parcourir le granite!
- Depuis le point WP1 : N48 49.761 W3 31.050, profitez du
panorama et trouvez le nom du roi dont vous pouvez fouler la tête
si vous marchez quelques dizaines de mètres en direction des
"lapins". Soit A le nombre total de lettres de son nom
ajouté au nombre de voyelles.
- Vous pouvez rejoindre le point WP2 : N48 49.A80 W3
30.A33 en empruntant un petit sentier pédestre qui part vers le
nord, entre deux jardins pour rejoindre le port (Coz Porz) et de
là, suivre le sentier côtier vers l'est. Prenez le temps d'y
admirer plein nord le rocher le plus célèbre de Trégastel : soit
B le nombre de face de l'objet (utilisé dans de nombreux
jeux) qui lui a donné son nom.
- En vous arrêtant au point WP3 : N48 50.(A-B-1)90 W3
30.1(B+1)3, trouvez à l'horizon les iles de l'archipel Jentilez
(en Breton): soit C le nombre d'iles le composant. N48
50.214 W3 30.100
- Au point WP4 : N48 50.(A-B-1)(C+1)7 W3 30.(C-B-1)11,
comptez le nombre D de trous dans ce rocher à l'érosion
caractéristique.
- Au dernier arrêt panoramique WP5 : N48 50.(A-B-1)(B-D)2 W3
29.A02, reposez vous sur le banc de granite et identifiez plein
est le phare Men Ru (en granite rose bien sûr). A sa droite, une
grande villa de vacances se détache : soit E le nombre
d'ouvertures visibles (sur le mur principal, la tour et le toit).
Un peu plus à droite, remarquez la Maison du Littoral qui permet de
mieux découvrir la Côte de Granite Rose.
- A partir de là, allez au point N48 50.(E-A)(E-A)3 W3
30.(E+B-A-C-D)(E+B-A-C-D)1 chercher la cache sur l'étagère d'un
abri naturel au toit de granite très impressionnant!
Un peu plus loin, repérez un autre abri de granite, une allée
couverte mégalithique au point N48 50.(E-A)14 W3 30.D00
(située sur une propriété privée, en été, il vous faudra peut-être
demander la permission aux éventuels vacanciers séjournant là).
Note: l'itinéraire est devient piéton avant le point WP3. Si
vous voulez faire l'ensemble à pieds, vous pouvez vous garer près
du point de départ, auquel cas il vous faudra remonter la côte en
fin de circuit! D'autres parkings possibles sont celui de l'ile
Renote P1 : N48 50.097 W3 30.551, sous le Père Eternel P2
: N48 49.934 W3 30.770 ou en face de la baie Saint Anne P3 :
N48 49.653 W3 30.619, mon préféré car il vous permet de
découvrir une splendide petite église (en granite rose bien sûr).
Dans tous les cas, admirez les rochers et les paysages et profitez
bien de ce petit coin de Bretagne!
