Situada na zona oriental da Costa Sul da fantástica ilha de São Miguel, Arquipélago dos Açores, a Povoação é uma vila, sede de concelho, plena de beleza, que encontra na fertilidade dos seus terrenos o seu maior aliado, caracterizando-se pela sua encantadora faceta rural. De facto, a Povoação é conhecida como “celeiro da Ilha”, tal a sua importância agrícola, com grandes produções de cereais e batata. Desde os tempos de descobrimento da Ilha, ainda no século XV, que os descobridores se impressionaram com a beleza natural deste território, abundante em vegetação, colonizando-o prontamente, adaptando aqui gado, sementes de trigo e diversos legumes. On the eastern south coast of the amazing São Miguel Island, Azores Archipelago, the Povoação is a village filled with beauty and tradition, marked by the fertility of its soils and the rurality of its ambience.
