«... Un jour, il y eut moins de loups, on ne sut d'abord pas pourquoi, mais bientôt on se rendit compte qu'il y avait pire et qu'un fabuleux animal, venu d'on ne sait où et jusqu'alors invisible, les effrayait eux-mêmes. Ils avaient été dévorés ou s'étaient enfuis vers d'autres climats. Alors on trembla davantage, car on ne savait à quel monstre on avait à faire. Il rugissait tantôt dans les bois de Forment, tantôt dans celui de Maigre-Fontaine, tantôt jusqu'au Mont Moyen, tantôt dans les gorges de la Vingeanne, tantôt au Mont Armet et même au Val des Frais... Cependant, les craquements dans les forêts, les rugissements eux-mêmes n'étaient pas le pire. Le plus effrayant était le ronflement entendu dans les airs car la bête volait aussi bien qu'elle marchait... On reconnaissait sur un pré les ossements d'un veau, une jeune fille était trouvée morte sur un sentier, ayant subi tous les outrages. La bête était avide de chair fraîche, faisait ses délices de celle des hommes et encore plus de celle des femmes... Les fermes isolées, la Salle, la Thuillière, Servin, la Dhuis et les autres ne cessaient de la redouter... ».
Cette multi-cache vous propose de découvrir le village d’Aujeurres à travers ses légendes et son patrimoine. Départ et premiers indices à découvrir au centre du village sur la place de la Peûte-Bête :

1- Dans le lavoir, prenez connaissance de la légende et comptez le nombre de bassins : A
2- Comptez ensuite le nombre total de griffes sur les pattes avant de la fontaine de la Peûte-Bête : B
3- Prenez alors la « rue des Gargouilles » et notez le nombre total de gargouilles : C
4- Tournez ensuite à droite pour prendre « la ruelle » jusqu’à la grande route et arriver au deuxième lavoir (N 47° 44.437 E 005° 10.916). Comptez y le nombre de fresques D et le nombre d’alvéoles formant le coquillage au dessus de la fontaine E
5- Restez sur la grande route en direction du nord et au carrefour suivant, notez le nombre de kilomètre qui vous sépare du lieu-dit des 4 tilleuls (sur une flèche du circuit de randonnée) : F
6- Continuez tout droit et quittez la « rue de la petite fontaine » pour prendre la « rue de la grande fontaine » que vous trouverez aux coordonnées suivantes : N 47° 44.521 E 005° 10.988. Comptez alors le nombre d’auges en plus de celle qui reçoit l’eau de la fontaine : G
Suivre ensuite la route en direction de Longeau (D 141 - « rue des Roches ») puis prendre à droite le « sentier sauvage » à une centaine de mètres pour rejoindre votre véhicule.

1- In the washhouse, acquaint with the legend and count the number of ponds: A
2- Count the total number of claws on legs before of the fountain of Peûte-Bête: B
3- Take then the street « rue des Gargouilles » and note the total number of gargoyles : C
4- Turn then to the right to take the street « la ruelle » up to the main road and arrive at the second washhouse (N 47 ° 44.437 E 005 ° 10.916). Count the number of fresco D and the number of alveolus forming the shell above the fountain E
5- Stay on the main road in the north direction and in the following crossroads, note the number of kilometers which separates you from the locality of 4 lime trees « 4 tilleuls » (on an arrow of the circuit of hike) : F
6- Continue quite straight ahead and leave the street of « rue de la petite fontaine » to take the street « rue de la grande fontaine » which you will find in the following coordinates: N 47 ° 44.521 E 005 ° 10.988. Count then the number of auges besides the one who receives the water of the fountain. G
Follow then the road in the direction of Longeau (D 141 - « rue des Roches ») may take to the right the « sentier sauvage » in hundred of metres to join your vehicle.
