Geocache Description:

This is the first of three cache events in the Rogers City area during the weekend of August 28, 29, & 30 (Friday night, Saturday & Sunday). The events are sponsored by Hoeft State Park, Presque Isle Conservation District, MSU Extension, the Rogers City Marina, & 40 Mile Point Lighthouse.

The Friday night event will feature a meet & greet in the CCC pavilion at Hoeft State Park. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. with food beginning at 6:30 p.m. Anyone so inclined may bring a side dish to share, but this is not required. The entree will be provided.

A brief intro to geocaching will be conducted for anyone interested, followed by a search for an easy to find nearby cache. A sunset hike will be conducted to nearby Sacred Rock (hopefully soon to be an Earth cache).

Hoeft State Park is one of the most outstanding parks in the Midwest. It features beautiful campsites, excellent picnic facilities, a sandy beach and a remarkable CCC pavilion. Visit the park website at the address at the top of this listing for more information including reservations.
