Geocache Description:

A memorial in Mossel Bay dedicated to the local people who have given their lives in World War 1.

I wanted to place a cache in my "other" home-town with a name that is closely related to the Afrikaans word "Parra"- my nickname (Parra-site), so Frog rock had to do. :-)

The following is an extract of a paper at the entrance of Frog rock.

"The memorial was unveiled on the 28th of September 1928, by mayor general Sir H.T Lukin, KCB, CMG, who had been the commander of the South African forces that went to France in 1915.

It was designed by a local architect WJ Delbridge, ARIBA, and was paid for with funds raised by the people of Mossel Bay.

Professor Wesley Gavin, a life-long resident of the town said that the memorial was “built in the general style of the art deco period and was probably modeled on the cenopath in London”

Plaques on the monument commemorate men who fell in the first and second world wars as well as in the Korean conflict and in South Africa’s own border war."

Cache maintenance will be done by my sister. Thanks.

Nearby attractions include the St Blaize lighthouse and the cave.

Cache should be relatively easy to find (with "stealth").

Please note that the cache can take small travellers but it is not recommended since the cache was muggled in the past.
General geoswag can be left though.

First to find honours goes to: Wilduvo. Congratulations.
