Identifiable par sa couleur
rouge, un fragment de son calcaire a été trouvé sur la ferme de
Cauberas, à Aurignac, qui date de l’ Antiquité.
L’extraction de la pierre
remonterait donc à cette époque.
Bon Géocaching sur ce lieu
antique !
Ne cherchez pas le "trésor" dans la
carrière, n'y entrez pas ! C'est une propriété privée avec défense
d'entrer.

This quarry, (now called
“Baquet – Bernadets Quarry ") is the only one of many small quarries
that existed on this territory still in operation.
Identifiable by its red
color, a fragment of its limestone was found on Cauberas farm, in
Aurignac, dating from Antiquity.
The extraction of the stone
goes back to that time.
