Qu’elles viennent de la grande rue ou des rues de la Crâa, les lavandières longeaient les hauts murs du château lorsqu’elles descendaient à la fontaine Saint-Eloi. Edifice rustique qui se dresse à l'entrée d'un vallon verdoyant, cette fontaine est construite selon un plan rectangulaire de 36 pieds de long sur 2 de large. Elle a devant elle un gué peu profond, protégé par une paroi rocheuse et un mur en pierres sèches.
Arrivant de la rue du Cul de Sac, les lavandières empruntaient un raidillon étroit qui s’insinue entre les murs du jardin et ceux du parc du château. Bordées d’imposantes frondaisons, bienfaitrices en été, ce pittoresque chemin est franchi par un magnifique pont en pierre de taille. Daté du 18eme siècle, sa voûte est adroitement déviée afin de s’adapter à la déclivité du terrain et son parapet constitué de pierres de taille assemblées en « crossettes ».
