At roughly 3 km nor-northeast of Cabo de São Vicente is the Praia
do Telheiro. Sought mainly by surfers and for those who love nature
this is a wild and quiet beach. Is not monitored and doesn't have
any kind of support structures. The accesses are made by off-road
but it is easily accessible .
There are several rock formations on the beach, because this is the
point of junction between the southern shore sediment and massive
western shale.
Sometimes it's possible to see
birds of prey in the area.
The cache takes you to visit this beach. It's a small container
that's easy to find. The worst will get there. Requires crossing
the beach and up some cliffs and jump over some stones. Also take
note that the rocks may be slippery. Please, take care. It is not
difficult to reach the site but if you have vertigoes don't do this
cache.
To reach the beach there are several options and they all require
walking offroad. The best option is on the road for access to the
Cape of São Vicente turn towards Vale Santo. There end the paved
road and you must follow to the park. From there you have to go by
foot.
This cache is in the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa
Vicentina. Then do not forget to help preserve nature and natural
beauty of the place, any garbage you have find on the beach please
take it to the container in the car park - Cache In, Trash
