Geocache Description:

What a Minter!

This is a small camouflaged 200mL sistema cache located near the old mint near Onerahi, Whangarei. The plant was operated by a NZ branch of the English company Bradbury Wilkinson & Co and produced NZ bank notes between 1981 and 1987.

The mint itself has been long decommissioned, and the facility is now in the hands of the Ministry of Education.

The site looks just as secure as it ever was, however, so one can only wonder at what kind of education is going on inside there...

BYO pen/pencil in order to sign the logbook.

[Special note of thanks to Grobyc for rescuing this cache after it's first GZ was destroyed, and rehiding in a new spot 20 Dec 09]
