Un grand coup de cœur pour cet endroit perdu, loin des grands axes. Un grand merci à nos amis Régine et Albert qui nous l’ont fait découvrir !
Vous trouverez la Kasbah de Boulaouane à environ 65km d’ El Jadida et 60 km de Settat.
Après Boulaouane, prenez à gauche, c’est indiqué. Puis, faites environ 6 km et prenez à nouveau à gauche, en suivant la direction du barrage d’ Imfout.
Vous traverserez une forêt d’eucalyptus, puis une forêt de pins avant d’apercevoir la majestueuse Kasbah qui surveille la plaine de l’ Oum Rbia (« mère de verdure ») et le village depuis plus de trois siècles…
Ce véritable château fort a été construit sur les ordres du Sultan Moulay Ismaïl en 1710.
A l’intérieur : les ruines d’une résidence aménagée pour le célèbre souverain. A droite : les restes d’une haute tour carrée et à gauche une mosquée à plusieurs nefs, plutôt en bon état.
On distingue aussi deux souterrains voûtés qui ont servi de silos.
Ce sont les ruines, très belles et impressionnantes, mais aussi et surtout l'immense beauté du panorama qui nous ont séduit.
Si vous avez de la chance, vous rencontrerez Mohammed, (103 ans lunaires) qui vous racontera ses souvenirs dans un français de qualité et égrènera pour vous les noms des nombreuses villes françaises où il est allé.
Si vous décidez de visiter la Kasbah, vous devez savoir que vous risquez fort d’ être assaillis par les enfants du village car cet endroit est un passage vers l’école.
Ne cherchez pas la cache à l’intérieur des ruines !

Ps : faites très attention quand vous trouverez la cache, même si vous vous croyez seul : ici, « les murs ont des yeux », et à tout moment, des enfants peuvent surgir de nulle part…..

You will find la Kasbah de Boulaouane about 65 km from El Jadida and 60 km from Settat.
After Boulaouane, take the left, it is sign-posted. Then, drive about 6 km and take the left again, follow the sign for the dam of Imfout.
You will drive through an eucalyptus forest, then a pine forest before catching sight of the palatial Kasbah which has kept watch over the plain of the Oum Rbia (“Mother of Green”) and the village for more than three centuries…
This true castle was built on the orders of Sultan Moulay Ismaïl in 1710.
Inside : the ruins of a residence for the famous sovereign. On the right: the remains of a high square tower and on the left a mosque with several naves, in fairly good condition.
Two arched subterranean rooms that were used as silos can also be seen there.
We did like the ruins, which are beautiful and impressive, but first and foremost, we loved the immense beauty of the panoramic view.
If you are lucky, you will meet Mohammed, (103 lunar years old) who will tell you about his memories in very good French and will list the names of the many French cities he has been to for you.
If you decide to visit the Kasbah, you must know that you are quite likely to be surrounded by the children of the village because this place is on a route to school.
Do not look for the cache inside the ruins!
