Geocache Description:

Old SideTracked - Cassington Halt

Cassington Halt

Cassington Halt is on the old Fairford Branch Line which goes from
Yarnton junction to Fairford.

The halt doesn't exist anymore but the bridge does
and the railway has been made into a road for the quarry.
Opened on March 1936 the halt was merely a concrete platform and a wooden hut.

Nothing is left of the halt. So to make it interesting, I've led you down a footpath which takes you over the old track bed which is now a straight road.

There is parking but it's on the other side of the A40.
So be careful whilst crossing it if you take this option.

FTF goes to Cliffiejands
