Kätkö esittelee hienon uimaranta alueen Espoon rantaraitin varrella. Alue koostuu kahdesta erillisestä uimarannasta sekä niiden väliin jäävästä koirien uimapaikasta. Kesähelteillä siis geokoiratkin saattavat innostua ja pitää tästä kätköstä.
Kätköltä hiukan itään sijaitsee toinen uimarannoista, Toppelund. Tämä pienempi ja palveluiltaan hiukan heikompi uimaranta tarjoaa pukukopit ja suihkun uimareiden käyttöön. Ranta on erityisesti lapsiperheiden suosiossa matalan rannan ja suojaa tuovan allonmurtajan takia.
Kätköltä länteen lähdettäessä tulee ensiksi vastaan koirien uimapaikka ja sen jälkeen alkaa ranta-alue joka päättyy Mellstenin valvottuun uimarantaan. Aluetta pitää tukikohtanaan myös purjelautailijat. Tämä isompi ja palveluiltaan monipuolisempi ranta-alue tunnetaan myös nimellä Haukilahden uimaranta. Uimarannalla on suihkujen ja pukukoppien lisäksi beachvolley-kenttä, kioskipalvelut ja kesäterassi. Ranta on kesäisin erityisesti auringon palvojien suosiossa, mutta onneksi pitkällä rantakaistaleella löytyy paljon tilaa.
Terrain vaihtelee merenpinnan korkeuden mukaan. Pahimmillaan, päästäksesi kätkölle kuivin jaloin, saatat joutua käyttämään kumisaappaita tai jopa kahluusaappaita.
Kesäaikaan alueella on paljon ihmisiä, mutta kätkö sijaitsee sen verran syrjässä vilkkaimmista paikoista, että uimareista ja auringonpalvojista ei pitäisi olla haittaa.

This cache introduces you to nice beach area along the routes of Espoo rantaraitti. This area has two different beaches and a beach for the dogs between them. So during the warm summer days the geodogs might be interested in this cache.
To the east from cache site is located a beach called Toppelund. It has the normal facilities such as showers and cabins to change the clothes. This beach is popular among families with children because the water in this beach is shallow and there is a breakwater giving some protection to the beach.
West from the cache is first a swimming area for the dogs and when going along the coast you will arrive to the larger beach called Mellsten. Beach, also known as Haukilahti beach, has good facilities. It is supervised and there are the normal showers and cabins to change clothes, but also beach volley field and small coffee place with sunny terrace. In the summertime the beach is full of people worshipping sun, but luckily the area is big enough so there is always room.
Terrain rating depends on the sea level. Worst case is that you need rubber boots or pair of waders to reach the cache area unless you are brave enough to just take off your shoes and socks.
Usually in the summertime there is lot of people around, but the cache site is aside, so the swimmers and sun worshippers shouldn't be a problem.
