Labyrint, uzavrety priestor s jednym
vchodom, ktory prechadza do spleti ciar meandrovito sa vinucich
smerom k ustrednemu bodu. Spletita linia symbolizuje zivot,
stredobod potom smrt a znovuzrodenie.
Z historickeho hladiska patri medzi najstarsie znaky ludskej
kultury, ked sa objavil na roznych, od seba vzdialenych, miestach
sveta (v Europe je asi najznamejsi mytus o Minotaurovi, ale tento
symbol pouzivali aj Vikingovia, ci ludia v starovekom Peru, Indii

Aj dnes labyrint najdeme na roznych miestach. Ci uz ako sucast
zahradnej architektury, alebo hoci v stredovekych katedralach
(uprostred ich zapadneho portalu zrejme nejaky zbadame na stenach,
stlpoch alebo dlazbe).
K jednemu labyrintu Vas privedu aj uvodne suradnice.
Najdete ho
vo Waitovom (Weitovom) lome, v masive Devinskej kobyly. Lom
dostal nazov po bratislavskom stavitelovi Ing. Jozefovi Waitovi,
poslednom majitelovi Mittelmanovej vápenky. V minulosti lom sluzil
ako vapenka, ziskany vapenec sa exportoval do Talianska a Rakuska,
pripadne sa pouzival na spevnovanie brehov Moravy. K vapenke
patrila aj lanovka, ktora sluzila na nakladanie vytazenej horniny
na lode na Morave, ktorej kamenne pyloty sa zachovali do
dnes.
Pocas prechádzky Devinskou Kobylou sa Vam naskytnu krasne vyhlady
na Moravske pole (Rakusko), rieku Moravu, sutok Dunaja a Moravy pod
Devinskym hradnym bralom. Otvori sa Vam jedinecny svet rastlin a
zivocichov (medzi nimi mozete najst jedny z najvacsich klenotov
flory – vstavace, rod Orchis a viaceré druhy vtakov a
plazov), uputaju Vas geologicke (jaskyne vo vapencoch, pieskovy
odkryv) a geomorfologicke (erozne ryhy a uvaliny)
zaujimavosti.
Vyhlad na labyrint je z horneho poschodia lomu (upozornujeme, ze
horne poschodie lomu je sucastou NPR Devinska Kobyla).
Mala bodka na zaver. Neovereny zdroj uvadza, ze labyrint a bludisko
nie su to iste. Labyrint ma iba jednu cestu, ktora od vstupu vedie
az do ciela, nerozvetvuje sa, nevytvara slucky ani slepe chodby.

intuiciu, predstavivost a kreativitu. Naopak bludisko tvori vela
neprehladnych, rozvetvenych a slepych chodieb. Pri ceste nim

Skrysa:
Uvodne suradnice Vas zavedu k labyrintu nachadzajucemu sa vo
Waitovom lome. Skrysa je niekolko desiatok metrov od Vas.
Existuju dva sposoby, ako sa k nej dostanete, zavisi iba od Vas,
ktory zvolite.
Prvou moznostou, pri ktorej nemusite opustit znackovany
chodnik, je, ak si vsimnete smerovnik na suradniciach N 48°11.600 E
016°58.796.
Od smerovnika je skrysa:
a) ak na tabulkach smerovniku je cislo 2006, vzdialena 46 metrov
pod azimutom 200°,
b) ak na tabulkach smerovniku je cislo 2007, vzdialena 50 metrov
pod azimutom 280°,
c) ak na tabulkach smerovniku je cislo 2008, vzdialena 122 metrov
pod azimutom 300°,
d) ak na tabulkach smerovniku je cislo 2009, vzdialena 178 metrov
pod azimutom 315°.
Druhou moznostou je prejst labyrintom na hore uvedenych
suradniciach od jeho vchodu do stredu po celej ceste (vsetkymi
"ulickami") a spocitat kroky, ktore na jeho prejdenie potrebujete
(aby ste nazabludili mozete ako pomocku pouzit obrazok).
Od stredu labyrintu je skrysa:
a) ak ste presli do 201 krokov, vzdialena 128 metrov pod azimutom
180°,
b) ak ste presli od 201 do 425 krokov, vzdialena 85 metrov pod
azimutom 205°,
c) ak ste presli od 426 do 650 krokov, vzdialena 96 metrov pod
azimutom 255°,
d) ak ste presli viac ako 650 krokov, vzdialena 119 metrov pod
azimutom 290°,

Odporucame pristup z Devinskej Novej Vsi alebo Devina cez Devinsku
Kobylu po modrej turistickej znacke. Ak sa vsak chcete vydat s
kocikom, musite vyuzit inu cestu, napr. ak sa zo suradnic N 48
11.567 E 016 58.583 (tu mozete aj zaparkovat) vyberiete polnou
cestou priamo do kopca.
Labyrinth, is a closed
space with one entrance only, which leads into a web of lines
meandering leading to the central point. This web represents life,
the central point represents death and regenesis.
It is one of the oldest sign of civilization and appeared at
various outlying places in the world (in the Europe is well known
the myth about Minotaur, but this sign used even Vikings or people
in Peru, India or North America). It took his place in religion,
philosophy as well as miletery. However, long time ago it has many
various meanings from danger, insecurity and mystic to incarnation
of wisdom and brightness.
Nowadays we can find a labyrinth at many places. For example as a
part of garden architecture or in ancient cathedral (in the middle
of the western portal maybe on the walls, on columns or
pavement).
Coordinates above are going to bring you to one of
labyrinths.
You will find it in Wait´s (Weit´s) Quarry, in massif
Devínska Kobyla. Ing. Jozef Wait was a builder from Bratislava and
he was the last owner of Mittelman´s Limekiln. In the past the
quarry was a limekiln and the calcite was exported to Italy and
Austria or was used for firm up the banks ot the river Morava. To
this limekiln belong a funicular for loading of mining rock on
ships on river Morava. The stone piles are still there.
During a walk on Devinska Kobyla you will have a beautiful view on
Moravian field (Austria), river Morava, confluence of Danube and
Morava under Devin castle rock, you will see unique plants and
animals or various geological and geomorphologic interests.
Overlook the labyrinth is the best from the upper floor of the
quarry, there are many footpaths, anyways this area is a part of
national nature reserve.
In conclusion, unverified source states that labyrinth and maze are
not the same. A labyrinth has only one way from the beginning to
the end, no branchs, loops or dead ends and for successful passing
the labyrinth we need right hemisphere of the brain and we
capitalize on intuition, imagination and creativity. Contrariwise,
the maze is made up of lots chaotic, blind and divide corridors.

Opening coordinates will lead you to the labyrinth situated in the
Wait´s (Weit´s) Quarry, the cache is few tens meter far. There are
two ways how to get it, you can choose.
First possibility, and you will stick to the path, is to see the
signpost on coordinates N 48°11.600 E 016°58.796.
From the signpost is the cache:
a) if the number on the signpost´s plate is 2006, distant 46 meter,
azimuth 200°
b) if the number on the signpost´s plate is 2007, distant 50 meter,
azimuth 280°
c) if the number on the signpost´s plate is 2008, distant 122
meter, azimuth 300°
d) if the number on the signpost´s plate is 2009, distant 178
meter, azimuth 315°
Second possibility is to take the path of labyrinth and walk the
labyrinth from the entry to the center and count up the steps. The
picture can help you not to get lost.
From the centre of the labytinth is the cache:
a) if the number of your steps was less than 201, distant 128
meter, azimuth 180°
b) if the number of your steps was between 201 and 425, distant 85
meter, azimuth 205°
c) if the number of your steps was between 426 and 650, distant 96
meter, azimuth 255°
d) if the number of your steps was more than 650, distant 119
meter, azimuth 290°
