Short story: Easter 2009. On the hunt for GCTBEB "Ponte Jugais".
GPS sends us to the wrong place. Nice place to walk. So we decided
to take a walk. We did not reach GCTBEB, but we found many nice
places. We left this cache half-way at a nice picnic place.
This cache intends to show you some nice parts of the Serra da
Estrela. We suggest to you a pleasant family-friendly walk
(assuming that all family members enjoy walking). We recommend this
approach as the best way of looking for this cache. Alternatively,
you can get as close as 50m to the cache by car (however, you will
have to figure out the right road on your own). In the latter case,
terrain drops to abou 1,5-2, and its no longer a long walk.
Where to start: Waypoint PK (suggested parking), close to
"cabeça da velha". Follow the main trail in direction of Lapa dos
Dinheiros. Enjoy the landscape. After some time, you will reach
waypoint W1, where you cross a channel. Here begins a steep
descent. When reaching waypoint W2, make sure to take the small
trail at the right. All the time, you will be following the marked
main trail (yellow stripe).
On your way back, you have to climb up all the way until you
reach again W2. For the remaining way back there is a second
alternative: You can follow the channel, until you reach the top
part of the power station. At W3, go down the stair and continue
along the other channel, which directly takes you back to the
parking place.
The cache is hidden close to a lovely picnic place and
artificial lake. The reception at GZ is not the best, due to the
proximity of a large wall of rock.

envia-nos para o local errado. Local agradável para caminhar. Por
isso, decidimos dar um passeio. Não chegamos a GCTBEB, mas
encontramos muitos lugares agradáveis. Deixamos este cache no meio
do caminho numa agradável zona de merendas.
Esta cache pretende mostrar-te uma parte da Serra da Estrela.
Sugerimos-te um agradável passeio "family-friendly" (supondo que
todos os membros da família gostam de caminhar). Recomendamos esta
abordagem como a melhor maneira de procurar esta cache.
Alternativamente, podes chegar a 50m da cache de carro (no entanto,
terás que descobrir o caminho certo...). Neste último caso, cai a
classificação de terreno para aprox. 1,5-2, e já não é mais uma
longa caminhada.
Onde começar: Waypoint PK (estacionamento), perto da "cabeça
da velha". Siga o trilho principal na direção da Lapa dos
Dinheiros. Aproveite a paisagem. Depois de algum tempo, atingirá o
waypoint W1, onde se vai atravessar um canal. Aqui começa uma forte
descida. Quando chegar ao waypoint W2, certifique-se de tomar o
pequeno trilho à direita. Todo o tempo, o caminho será marcado
(faixa amarela).
No caminho de volta, e necessário subir todo o caminho até
chegar novamente W2. Para o restante caminho de volta, há uma
segunda alternativa: Pode-se seguir o canal, até chegar à parte
superior da central. No W3, desça as escadas e continue ao longo do
outro canal, que lhe leva diretamente de volta para o local de
estacionamento.
A cache está escondida perto dum zona de merendas e praia
fluvial. No GZ, a recepção não é a melhor, devida a proximidade
duma parede de pedra.
