Ludzas muzeja pakalpojumi

[ENG] Ludzas muzejs In the local history of the oldest town in Latvia you become acquainted with history of the area, learn that Latgalians lived here already centuries ago, what peoples wandered around these places searching for settlemnet place. The ruins left of the German castle (1399) is the symbol of fights and wars that took place here in the Middle Ages. Rich archeaelogical findings prove that in the 7th millenium B.C. Finnish-Ugric tribes lived in this area. Latgalian tribes started moving to the north and in the beginning of the 9th century reached the northern frontier of the present Latvia's territory. The Finnish-Ugric tribes partly moved to the north or assimilated with the Latgalian tribes.   The museum regularly organises various art exhibitions.
