This is a 2 stage cache that will bring you to the site of the
Meeker Island Lock and Dam. The posted coordinates will take you to
a sign along east river road that gives information about this
Historical Site. Use the following information and formulas to
calculate the final location of the cache.
XXX = (Slope % of the Old Wagon Road) x (30) - 148
YYY = (Oldest date in the text) - (1562)
N 44 57.XXX W 093 12.YYY
This cache is in a much friendlier location than my previous
cache here, but the hide is much more difficult. I'm starting the
difficulty at a 4.5 because I think it is. I will adjust it if
necessary. Please log all DNF's so I can get an idea of the true
diffculty. I would also prefer that all hints go through me in
order to keep this cache a challenge.
Though the final is in a much better location, I still would not
suggest doing this cache at night. Please use common sense and
don't move any landscaping. I did have a bit of trouble with
accuracy while getting coords, so note the terrain rating during
your search.
After you DNF this cache, or find it if you are lucky ;-) Go to
the bottom and check out the dam itself.
