Coolhill Castle, County Kilkenny.
This fortified residence has a fine circular structure. It dates back to the 13th century. It was passed to the Mountgarret family in 1621 but came under Cromwell's confiscations in 1653. It is situated on a cliff which is on a bend in the River Barrow, not far from The Rower.
To find the cache you will need to make some simple calculations for the final co-ordinates.
You should see the entrance gate of the castle. How many vertical bars (excluding the edges) in this gate? Call your answer A.
The final co-ordinates are:
N52 27.(90 x (A + 2) ) + A + 1
W6 55.(137 x A) + A - 2
The cache is a small camouflaged plastic canister. Please keep lid side facing in when replacing in it's hiding spot.
The best and only parking is near the brown direction sign.
CAUTION - heed the warning signs for the nearby cliff.
