Before heading north,
WeBeDnD left an indelible
mark on the South Bay Puzzle Cache scene. His array of puzzles
are remarkable in that they cover a vast array of themes, and
many of them carry their theme in layer upon layer up to and
including the cache container itself. On the other hand, some of
his puzzles, especially the POP series, are notable for their
evil simplicity. I'm sure many who have solved the POP series
were able to solve some of the puzzles immediately, but had to
scratch their heads for others. That was the case with me. One
puzzle in particular had me stymied for a long time. No matter
how many times I looked at it, I just didn't get it. Of course
since I was stumped I took advantage of the accompanying hint.
Unfortunately, all that did was convince me that the puzzle was
trying to do a certain thing. It took me a while to abandon that
idea, get back on track, and solve the puzzle. It wasn't until
days after I solved the puzzle that I understood what the hint
really meant!
Of course, the unwritten rule is that if while solving a puzzle
you come up with an idea for another puzzle, you then have to
create and publish that puzzle. So here is my take on a WeBeDnD POP
puzzle. If you solve it right away, you can throw a little party.
But if you are stumped, blame it on WeBeDnD.
Here is the puzzle, good luck:
