Church Micro 518…Maidenhead-St Mary’s Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Father Monk: Checked today and sadly this one has gone. As I am about to move away from the area and St Mary's is about to embark on building works in this area I am archiving the cache. Thanks to all those who found it.

Geocache Description:

Another in the Church Micro Series, an urban cache in the heart of Maidenhead. You are looking for a magnetic keysafe.

There has been a church on this site since 1270 when a chapel was built near to the Thames crossing between Bray and Cookham. The actual location of the first Church is marked by a plaque on the pavement in front of the neighbouring Bear Inn. The current Church is the fourth to be built and was consecrated in 1965 after the previous building became unsafe. Known as the Borough Church, St Mary's offers a warm welcome to all. (visit link)

The cache is a magnetic keysafe located near the entrance to St Mary's Close. GPS reception can be patchy due to the buildings and trees but the hint should help. Bring your own pencil and please ensure the cache is rehidden as found to keep it dry and safe.

If anybody would like to add to this series please do. I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so that he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
