Geocache Description:

This settlement was built on the summit of Play Hill. It has a single rampart, which has signifigantly eroded and has been completely eliminated on the east side, but is visible on the other sides. Archaeologists believe that it must originally have been reinforced with either stone or timber, or both. Around the west there are traces of an external ditch. The original entrance was possibly on the south side.

On a clear day, you can see Crichton Castle from the settlement.

There is on road parking very nearby in the village of Crichton. The road is single track here, so please do not obstruct it.
