Geocache Description:

[LV]Svetas Annas baznica ir vecaka Jelgavas eka – renesanses laika piemineklis, latviešu luteranu draudzes baznica. Baznicas dibinašanas akts apstiprinats 1567. gada. Koka baznica tapa jau 1573. gada, bet tagadeja mura eka uzcelta laika no 1638. lidz 1641. gadam. Pie Svetas Annas baznicas aug dižkoks – 1883. gada par godu Martinam Luteram stadits ozols. Baznicu rota 1910. gada Jana Rozentala gleznota altarglezna «Kristus un samariete».

[EN]St.Anna church is oldest building in Jelgava, the monument of Renaissance, latvian lutheran living church. Constituent act was approved at 1567. Wooden church was build at 1573. But current stone building was build from 1638. till 1641. Near by St.Anna church is secular tree - at 1883. in honour of Martin Luther planted oak. Altar-piece was painted by Janis Rozentals at 1910. named «Christ and Samarian».
