Molti conoscono il grande fisico Italiano Enrico Fermi che fu tra i padri del Progetto Manhattan che portò alla scoperta della bomba atomica.
Mentre era in Italia fu a capo di quella straordinaria squadra di fisici chiamata "I ragazzi di via Panisperna" dal luogo ove sorgeva il loro laboratorio.
Molte targhe, a Roma, ma anche negli USA, attestano i suoi studi e la sua presenza in quei luoghi, ma quasi nessuno sa che Enrico Fermi è nato proprio qui, a due passi dalla Stazione Termini, il 29 settembre 1901.
Una targa in pietra, promossa dal Comune di Roma nel centenario della sua nascita, segnala questo luogo.
Many people know the great Italian physicist Enrico Fermi who was one of the fathers of the Manhattan Project that led to the discovery of the atomic bomb.
While in Italy he was in charge of that extraordinary team of physicists called "I ragazzi di via Panisperna" owing to the name of the place where their laboratory stood .
Many plates, in Rome, but also in the U.S., attest his studies and his presence in those places, but almost nobody knows that Enrico Fermi was born right here, just a short walk from Termini Station, on September 29th, 1901.
A stone plaque, sponsored by the City of Rome on the centenary of his birth, report this place.
