Slepnis atrodas Stendes muižas kompleksa viena no ekam, eka kura
ir piebuveta klat vecajai ratnicas ekai. Pec vietejo iedzivotaju
stastiem eka ir celta ka regionalais tautas nams, bet netika
pabeigts. Eka ir pamesta un netiek apsaimniekota, vienigais
saimnieks ir "laiks", kas to nesaudze.
Stendes muiža piederejusi baronu fon der Brigenu dzimtai, tas
centra atrodas dažados laika posmos un stilos celtas ekas, kas
veido vienu no lielakajam Kurzemes muižu apbuvem. Senaka celtne ir
16. gadsimta sakuma buveta vecas pils eka — kadreiz nocietinatas
pils dzivojamais korpuss. Jauna muižas kungu maja celta 18.
gadsimta beigas, parbuveta 19. gadsimta sakuma ar klasicisma stila
iezimem. Preti pilij atrodas viens no labakajiem klasicisma stila
buvetajiem saimniecisko eku kompleksiem Kurzeme — 1820. gada celta
ratnica ar saimniecibas ekam. Muižas apbuve ietilpst ari vairakas
kalpu dzivojamas ekas, stalli, laidars, klets.
Ilgaka laika ap muižas apbuves centru veidots parks. Stendes
parka ipatniba ir ta, ka galvenais piebraucamais celš škerso visu
meža parku un ainavu parku, pirms aizved pie muižas centralas ekas.
Parka aug Latvija augstakais ozols (36 metri).
Muižas telpas atrodas akciju sabiedriba “Valsts Stendes
selekcijas stacija”, Libagu pagasta biblioteka, parejas telpas
netiek apdzivotas.

The cache is located in one of the town’s Stende manor complex
buildings – the annex to old cart-house. By the stories of local
inhabitants, the building was originally built as a regional
recreation centre, but the construction works weren’t finished. At
the moment the building is unattended and unmanaged, the only host
of the house is “time”, which is merciless.
The Stende manor was owned by the king of Fon der Brigen. In the
centre of manor’s complex of buildings, there are houses built in
various styles and different times. These buildings compile one of
the largest manor constructions in Kurzeme region. The oldest house
is the castle building, former dwelling block of embattled castle
built in the beginning of century 16th. The stewards’ house was
built at the end of 18th century, reconstructed in 19th century,
using the characteristic marks of classicism. One of the best
examples of classicism- style household building complexes in
Kurzeme region is located opposite to the castle – the old
cart-house, built in 1820. The manor complex also includes few
servant houses, a stable, a feedlot and a barn.
During a great while of time, a park around the manor complex
was established. The peculiarity of this park is the fact that the
manor’s main driveway crosses entire wood’s park and a landscape
park, before it leads to the manor’s main castle building. The
highest oak-tree in Latvia, which is 36 m tall, can be seen in this
park.
At the present time, a stock company “Stende plant-breeding
station” and the library of rural municipality Libagi, are situated
in one of the manor’s buildings, the rest premises are
unutilized.
