Cette cache est à chasser dans le contexte d'une boucle panoramique d'environ 8km dans un paysage magnifique. La randonnée a lieu sur des chemins balisés près du Col de Toutes Aures qui ne sont pas marqués sur les cartes touristiques de la région. Pour cette raison et parce que la balisage laisse parfois à désirer, on vous conseil de télécharger notre tracé ici.

Comme les panoramas le montrent, cette balade est magnifique en toute saison mais au mois de mai il y a un plaisir ajouté sous forme des nombreuses orchidées toute au long du parcours. Orchis militaire, pourpre, singe, brûlé et pyramidale sont tous en évidence - savourez le spectacle, ne les cueillez pas!

Côté pratique il y a deux parkings possible - tout dépend d'où vous arrivez - et, à WP1 vous trouverez une table picnique à l'ombre d'un arbre Le vrai longueur du parcours dépendra au chemin que vous emprunterez; soit celui qui passe dans le village de St Michel de St Geoirs soit celui qui passe en dessous (plus facile).

L'endroit était probablement connu au brigand célèbre dauphinois, Mandrin, et c'est lui qui vous relèvera une partie des coordonnées du cache...

This cache is intended to be sought while walking a pleasant 8km loop with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. You will be following an official footpath near the Col de Toutes Aures that has been mysteriously left off local footpath maps. For this reason and because the footpath markers are somewhat sporadic we suggest you download our trace and waypoints.

As the panoramic photos suggest this walk is lovely all year round but in May there is an added bonus in the shape of orchids growing all along the footpath. Early Purple, Lady, Monkey, Burnt and Military Orchids can all be found easily but are protected and should not be disturbed.

On the practical side there are two possible places to leave your car depending on where you are arriving from. At WP1 you will find a picnic table in the shade of a tree. The real length of the walk will depend whether you choose to follow the path through the village of St-Michel-de-St-Geoirs or take the easier shortcut below it.

This area was probably well known to the famous local highwayman, Mandrin, and you will need to find him to get part of the final cache co-ordinates...
