Wis Kid: Greetings from geocaching.com

Your cache has been determined to be in need of maintenance. I have disabled it to give you time to repair your cache. Once you have completed the maintenance, you can enable your cache and post a "Owner Maintenance" log, which will remove the "Needs Maintenance" attribute. If you are no longer interested in maintaining your cache, please archive it and retrieve it at the earliest opportunity. If I don't hear from you in 4 weeks, I will have to assume that you are no longer interested in your cache and will have to archive it for you. If you need more time, just post a note to the cache page indicating you are still working on the maintenance.

Thanks for your past contributions to geocaching in Wisconsin. I look forward to hearing from you.

Geocache Description:

West Bend, Wisconsin, the "Geocaching Capital of the Midwest"™, is celebrating geocaching by offering a weekend full of geocaching activities! West Bend boasts over 450 caches within a 7-mile radius. Want a fun family weekend in a great little city? How about finding 50 new PERMANENT caches (yes, we are going for 50 again!) and a chance to win cash? Would you like to have fun socializing and meet new friends? Then be sure to attend our second annual Cache Ba$h!

This is WISCONSIN'S FIRST MEGA EVENT! If you came last year, you know what a great time we had, so come join us again and spread the word!
Registration Deadline: August 6, 2009

**NEW FOR THIS YEAR!**
  • CACHE AND PARKING COORDINATES WILL BE RELEASED FRIDAY NIGHT! Downloads can be done at home or on site. You will still need to register Saturday morning and get your stamp booklet at Regner Park prior to finding the caches IF you want to qualify for the prizes. You can save some time by filling out the registration form and accident waiver online Click here for waiver.
  • WIDER CACHE DISTRIBUTION: Caches will be spread throughout the Washington County area and you may have to drive a bit between caches. We are releasing the coordinates early so people can map their strategies for trying to get all 50.
  • WATER CACHES: If you have a kayak or canoe - bring it! There will be a couple bonus caches accessible only by water and also one cache that you have to swim and dive for! Come prepared. These water caches also qualify to get tickets towards the prize drawings.
  • NIGHT CACHES: A couple night caches will be released for your enjoyment on Friday night.
  • CREATIVE CACHE CONTEST: Bring your most creative cache container and teams will vote for their favorite!

West Bend is proud to be home of the Washington County Historical Courthouse & Jailhouse Museums as well as the Museum of Wisconsin Art. We have an extensive trail system which includes the beautiful Riverwalk with its multiple art sculptures. We also have part of the paved Eisenbahn Trail which starts from West Bend's southern border all the way north to Kewaskum (bring your bikes and strollers!) and into Fond du Lac County. Many of our caches are hidden along the scenic Ice Age Trail which winds its way through the city and outlying communities and parks. NOTE: Most of our parks and trails do NOT allow dogs.
