"A CRESTUMENSE"

Caminhando por entre vales, pinheirais e terras chãs, atingimos os terrenos alcantilados que caiem sobre o Rio Uíma e o Douro. São terrenos e aldeias em socalcos, formando autênticos anfiteatros sobre estes rios, cujas margens se revestem de densos bosques que se reflectem nas suas águas. Estamos em Crestuma (O topónimo tem origem na síntese de duas palavras: Castrum, povoação elevada, e Uíma, nome do rio que lhe passa ao pé e que desagua no rio Douro), freguesia ribeirinha do Concelho de Vila Nova de Gaia a qual dista da sede do Concelho cerca de 14 km.

Walking through valleys, pine forests and flat lands, reached the land falling on the Douro river and Uíma. They are land and villages in terraces, forming authentic amphitheaters on these rivers, whose margins are of dense forests that reflected in its waters. We are at Crestuma (The name has rise in the synthesis of two words: Castrum, high population and Uíma, name of the river which passes the foot and that flows in the Douro river) riverside village of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia where the distance the center of the County is about 14 km.

Esta Vila situa-se na zona oriental do território concelhio junto à margem esquerda do rio Douro, tendo a Vila de Olival a poente, a Vila de Sandim a sul e a Vila de Lever a leste. Crestuma é uma das vinte e quatro freguesias do Concelho de Vila Nova de Gaia. A fundação desta freguesia confunde-se com os primórdios de Portugal. A indústria têxtil e a fundição permitiram que fosse uma das mais evoluídas no concelho. No entanto, a crise energética de 70 conduziu à ruína e emigração. Na zona da Fontinha, permanecem edifícios que outrora fizeram parte da zona têxtil. A mola-real do nascimento da freguesia está junto ao rio. E ali nascem campeões, no Clube Náutico de Crestuma, várias vezes campeão nacional e que já organizou provas internacionais, levando longe o nome do concelho. A igreja é um dos símbolos de Crestuma. A vista do adro, a capela do Aral e as alminhas do cruzeiro dão vida à freguesia.

This village is located in the eastern of the territory near the municipal left bank of the Douro river, the town of Olival the west, the town ofSandim the south and east of Lever. Crestuma is one of twenty-four parishes of the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia. The foundation of this parish confused with the beginnings of Portugal. The textile industry and the foundry was allowed one of the most advanced in the county. However, the energy crisis of 70 led to the emigration and ruin. In the area of fontinhas, remain buildings that once were part of the textile area. The spring-real birth of the parish is near the river. And there born champions in the Club Náutico de Crestuma several times national champion and has already hosted international, taking away the name of the county. The church is one of the symbols of Crestuma.

Para encontrar esta cache, vai visitar um dos locais mais altos da vila de Crestuma, junto à sua igreja-matriz. Dai, terá uma excelente vista sobre o Douro e o resto da vila. Aproveite e goze as vistas. Quando estiver para procurar a cache, a zona puderá estar com muggles, vindos de uma possível missa ou outro evento religioso, procure a Crestumense com precaução e use os seus dotes de Stealth para o fazer. A cache é um rolo fotográfico de 35mm.

To find this cache, you will visit one of the highest places in the town of Crestuma, next to his church-matrix. From there, you will have an excellent view over the Douro and the rest of the village. Take advantage and enjoy the views. When looking for the cache, the area could be full with muggles, look for the Crestumense with caution and use your gifts of Stealth to do so. The cache is a photography roll of 35mm.
