Geocache Description:

Kilkieran High Crosses, County Kilkenny.

There was originally a monastery on this site, but nothing remains of it apart from the high crosses.

Two of them have celtic ringed heads and intricate carving. A third one is unique in Ireland. It has a tall thin shaft and short stumpy arms. A fourth cross has just the shaft remaining.

There is a holy well at the far end of the site.

Kilkieran can be found along the road that runs between the villages of Owning and Tullahought.

The cache is a small round camouflaged tupperware box.

Note - there is no need to walk beyond the barbed wire fence to find this cache
