It's a Small World #5 - Aruba Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

HaLiJuSaPa: Well, the good news is the park is open. The bad news is the area this cache is in is unaccessible as the path to it is close due to post-Sandy damage and cleanup. Someone there who was also trying to explore the path told me it may be months or even a year or more before they open that area again.

So reluctantly we are going to let this one go. The other 2 caches (not ours) in this great park are in areas that you can go to so this will not affect them.

Geocache Description:

This series was started by Foxx1090, he has encouraged others to add to it, so we are starting to use this series to place nano caches in nice places where other types of caches have been frequently muggled.

The point of the cache is to make nano caches about places around the world. We are trying to go from A to Z. The It's A Small World Series will go to 80 countries. Feel Free To Make Your Own, but make sure it is in alphabetical order! The cache is a nano located in a scenic park in New Rochelle, NY. While parking is restricted to local residents, it is not enforced outside summer, you can also park on side streets and take a longer walk in. Please bring a pen/pencil the cache is too small to fit one! Cache is a standard "black nano" container, with a touch of gray on it (do not remove the gray as the cache will not be replaceable from where found without it). While this hide is a bit tricky, a unique thing about it for a nano hide is that it is handicapped accessible.

Aruba is a 33-kilometre (21 mi)-long island of the Lesser Antilles in the southern Caribbean Sea, 27 km (17 mi) north of the Paraguaná Peninsula, Falcón State, Venezuela. Together with Curaçao and Bonaire it forms a group referred to as the ABC islands of the Leeward Antilles, the southern island chain of the Lesser Antilles.

An autonomous region within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Aruba has no administrative subdivisions. Unlike much of the Caribbean region, Aruba has a dry climate and an arid, cactus-strewn landscape. This climate has helped tourism as visitors to the island can reliably expect warm, sunny weather. It has a land area of 193 km2 (75 sq mi) and lies outside the hurricane belt. Recently, there have been a series of funny tourism commercials starring comedian Lewis Black with local "celebrities" such as Miss Aruba (see picture) and an Aruba local TV weatherman
