The Twelve Days of Christmas start with Christmas Day and finish with the eve of Epiphany on 5th January. The song starts on day 1 when “My true love gave to me, A Partridge in a Pear Tree”. On day two it’s “Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree” etc.
In the “Twelve days of Caching”, we ignore the number of each item required, but you need to repeat the previous days challenge, AND in addition achieve that days new requirement. By the end of day 12 you’ll have found 78 caches!
The first days requirement will be added to this listing on the first day of Christmas (Christmas Day), the second day on boxing day etc until all 12 days are listed on 5th January.
You can only go and find this cache once you have completed the requirements of all 12 days of caching – thus the earliest this can be found will be 6th January.
RULES :
1 : You must do the 12 listed days in order, i.e. day 1 before day 2, day 2 before day 3 etc. Thus the last day to be completed will be the twelfth day
2 : On each day, you must find exactly that day’s requirements. Finding any additional caches invalidates that day and you will need to repeat it. (as you attend events rather than find them, you can attend an event without it taking you over your daily limit)
3 : Caching days do not need to be consecutive calendar days. Maybe you want to “Do a day” each Saturday. You can of course find other caches on the days between these scoring days.
4 : All caches found must be new finds (no returning to previously found caches).
5 : You can not find your own caches.
6 : Changes to cache names, sizes, types, difficulties, terrain ratings etc to meet the needs of this cache are not allowed. Similarly, placement of new caches to fulfil specific requirements are not allowed.
7 : Caches must be active caches listed on the www.geocaching.com website
8 : A single cache find can only count for one (and only one) of the days requirements. Thus on day 12 you will need to find 12 different caches.
9 : This cache can not be counted as a find on any of your twelve days.
10 : As the twelfth day of caching can only have the finds of the 12 qualifying caches, this cache will therefore need to be found on a 13th day.
11 : Your find log for this cache must list the day numbers (First to Twelfth), the date you completed that stage, the categories for each day (First day will have one, twelfth day will have twelve), and the name/waypoint with a link to that caches page. I’ve logged an example as a note below.

On the fifth day of caching, my caching finds will be :
- A MULTI stage cache,
- A SMALL sized cache,
- A LEVEL 2+ cache (rated D2+ or T2+),
- A well hidden MICRO,
- and a simple TRADITIONAL, the easiest find of all.
On the sixth day of caching, my caching finds will be :
- A REGULAR sized cache,
- A MULTI stage cache,
- A SMALL sized cache,
- A LEVEL 2+ cache (rated D2+ or T2+),
- A well hidden MICRO,
- and a simple TRADITIONAL, the easiest find of all.
On the seventh day of caching, my caching finds will be :
- An UNKNOWN/PUZZLE cache,
- A REGULAR sized cache,
- A MULTI stage cache,
