No pirts nakuši mate ar mazu bernu. Berns ieraudzijis melnu, lidojošu ezeru un radijis - "...usmigs, ...usmigs". Ezers atrodas Ventspils rajona uz robežas ar Talsu un Kuldigas rajonu.. No Usmas iztek tikai viena upe - Engure. Ta ietek Puzes ezera. No ezera iztek Rindas upe, kura velak, savienojoties ar Stendes upi, veido Irbi, kura, savukart ietek Baltijas jura.
Zivis - asari, karpas, lidakas, raudas, plauži, plici, repši, sigas, zandarti, zuši.
Eitrofs, aizaugošs ezers, aizaugums klaj ap 5% ezera.
Populara burašanas vieta, ap ezeru daudz atputas bazes, tai skaita "Lejastiezumi","Bukdangas" ,"Usmas kempings", "Godeli" u.c.

There is an old legend about how the Usma lake has been derived. From the bathhouse were mother with children coming. Child looked up in the sky and saw there flying lake which were in black color already. Child started scream “usmigs, usmigs”. The lake felt down. This is how Usma lake, lake of the “Fog Land”, if we translate it from liiv language, has been derived.
The lake is situated in Ventspils District, on the border with Talsi and Kuldiga Districts. In the lake, there are seven islands - Viskužu Isle (the biggest island in Latvia), Moricsala (Morics` Isle), which acquired its name after a historical event in 1727 when a Saxon count - Morics, the challenger for the throne of Kurzeme Duchy, was hiding from Russian military troops there for a while. In 1912 Moricsala was announced the first nature reserve in Latvia. The names of the other islets are: Lielalksnite (Big Alksnite), Mazalksnite (Little Alksnite), Zossalina (Islet of Geese), Dvinites (Twinlets).
In spite of the depth of the lake there are many sandy shelves that make the lake very fascinating indeed. The shore is mostly sandy, and the lake is surrounded by woods or forests.
All in all there are 10 rivers falling into Lake Usma - Tirukšupe, Godele, Melncelma, Mekupe, Serža, Ostupe, Bangava, Struncene, Riekte, Kanupe.
But there is only one river starting from Lake Usma - the River Engure, which flows into Lake Puze. This lake gives a start to the River Rinda which further down joins with the River Stende to form the River Irbe which finally falls into the Baltic Sea.
1. Not more than 8 people are allowed to ascend the tower.
2. Do not ascend the tower under the influence of alcoholic drinks or other intoxicating substances.
3. Children are allowed to visit the tower only inder adult supervision.
4. Do not lean against or over the rails.
5. Do not rock the tower.
6. Do not ascend the stairs without holding to the rails.
7. Do not ascend the tower in case of:
- The strength of wind reaching more than 6 m/sec (wind shakes the basic branches of trees).
- An approaching thunderstorm or during a thunderstorm.
8. Do not smoke or use open fire on the platform.
9. Do not throw anything off the tower.
10. Do not ascend the stairs if they are ice-covered.
11. Do not ascend the stairs in case of damage observed to the tower
