Geocache Description:

Forest walk in the Sandspit Forest Reserve, Weilangta State Forest. Cache is about 1/2 way along the track (about 45min either way, from south shorter but steeper, north flat but longer)

Weilangta means "tall trees" and this is an interesting area with some old logging tram-ways and a walk through the reserve. You might see some Orange-Bellied Parrots, but unless you like digging under logs you won't see a Broad-Toothed Stag Beetle.
Both are rare and the Beetle is particularly hard to find. In a recent survey only 2 Stag Beetles were found. (visit link) You will see leeches.

You can do the whole walk (3 hrs return) or walk to the cache and return from the South or North ends of the track. Several trees are across the track, and while we were placing the cache we heard a very loud crash as another tree came down in the wind.
There was a settlement at the north end on the plain (see photos). There are few signs of this abandoned settlement now.

Cache is the usual Sistema with log book, pen and some swaps (small animals, bubble mix and two polished rocks)

GPSr reception wasn't good so we're giving a rough clue here and a (hopefully) precise encrypted clue.
Rough Clue: Where do Stag Beetles live?
