A chance to meet some of NZ's most experienced cachers (12,000 cache finds between 4 of us).
Some of you will be aware of the past caching visits that I have made to your city from my cache logs or from the event that I held at this same location in September 2007.
This time I'm bringing some friends with me and my 11 year old son.
This event will consist for a a catch up at the site of the (now archived) "Smithy" cache near Brisbane Airport. Feel free to bring cricket gear, a soccer ball or other items to keep people entertained. If its raining we'll use the shelter at the smithy display for our get together. The get together starts at 3:00 PM Saturday 27th December.
One of our party needs to fly back to New Zealand at 5:50pm so will have to leave at around 5:00pm in order to catch his flight (we'll check him in before the event).
The group of us are in Australia for about 3 weeks, starting 10th December and anticipate a substantial cache count by the time we reach Brisbane, so we'll have lots of experiences to share from this trip alone, not to mention the experiences from our trip to Adelaide and Tasmania last summer and our NZ caching experiences.
It'll be great to catch up and swap caching stories and perhaps even do some caching together after the event.
Where does the cache name come from?
How about each bringing a $10 or so "cache toy", Xmas wrapped. It could even be an unwanted present that you received a couple of days beforehand. Well put them all into a sack and draw them out so that people each get a random present on the day.
If you don't want to participate, that's fine.
If you do want to participate but don't like your present, we suggest that you go out and find a cache with a nice swap and swap it.
