Feed the Birds (Tobago) Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

erik88l-r: This is a problem with any "vacation cache". The owner can't just bop over and move it. Apparently the "local cache guardian" can't either. Now over a month has gone by with nothing happening. If the cache is relocated or the problem otherwise corrected within another 30 days please contact me and I'll be happy to unarchive it.
Thanks for your understanding,
erik - volunteer cache reviewer

Geocache Description:

Unfortunately due to a recent reported robbery attempt we feel we must temporarily disable this cache. It is sad that this is becoming a more common experience on such a beautiful island, but we hope that you will still have a lovely time elsewhere. Easy walk along a nature trail path, with plenty of shade and places to rest. Parking is close by.

When the cache was placed it contained a log book with a small pencil, "Toco the Clown Fish" TB, and various small items - glow in the dark shoelaces, wood bead necklace, leather bracelet, ring, Pooh badge, anchor key ring, hair grips, and a couple of disposable towlettes. You are looking for a small round plastic container.

The location of the cache is along a nature trail near a bird sanctuary, where access is free and open all day. Feeding times are 8am and 4pm, when the keeper brings out an assortment of food for the local birds, including the Mot Mot (King of the Woods) and Cocrico. The trails have a slight incline, but are easy to walk along and have good cover from the sun, with benches along the route.

We believe that many years ago, this was the site of a coconut plantation, and you can see where the roof of the building used to slide off in order to let the sun dry out the nut to make coconut oil. Later, it bacame a farm and the trail takes you past the Pig Palace and Cattle Pens, before becoming a bird sanctuary.

Small note on cache maintenance: Local geocachers The Doubles will assist. Thanks!
