An abandoned train tunnel by the sea. Amazing, i know.
The abandoned train tunnel is actually called Kosharitza. Not too much can be found about it on the internet, but hey, it’s there. Part of an old project which had to connect Bourgas and Varna cities with a railroad. How great was that going to be, a railroad by the sea, letting us get a train and get anywhere while breathing the fresh air around… Well, the project never got completed; but got rather abandoned. And so the tunnel; which was build anyways and still stands like a mysterious fortress; right in the middle of nowhere. No tracks to walk on, no train to be ever seen up here in the mountain. Just an old train tunnel. The tunnel is long almost 1 km inside the mountain. But I don’t suggest wading inside. And beware of the bees that live on the top level of the tunnel entrance (you do not have to go there in order to get the cache out). The smaller tunnel, right next to the big one is actually an air-conditioning shaft – they build it along with the tunnel, because by the time when they did it, trains were pulled by steam engines and so they had to build those air-corridors along with the tunnels in order to get fresh air in when the steam train is passing thru the tunnel.
