Torpedostationen blev opført i 1906. Frem til afslutningen af 1.
verdenskrig blev den benyttet til indskydning af torpedoer.
I mellemkrigsårene blev bygningerne benyttet som
husvildeboliger.
Under besættelsen beslaglagde værnemagten området og indrettede
forsøgsstation. Først efter krigens afslutning blev det afsløret,
at de forsøg den tyske marine havde udført på stedet omhandlede
sløring og varsling af radar på ubåde.
I forbindelse med den tyske kapitulation selvsænkede
ubådskommandoen adskillige ubåde i Lillehav ud for Høruphav.
Efter krigen blev den gamle torpedostation indrettet som
flygtningelejr.
Torpedostationens gamle bygninger er for længst borte. I
halvfjerdserne opførtes et villakvarter.
Bunkerne ved stranden stammer fra den ophugning og demontering
af krigsmateriel der foregik på stedet helt frem til slutningen af
halvtredserne.

if the light is so small that you can have it in your pocket.
The Torpedo Station was built in 1906. Up to the end of 1st
World War it was used for test shooting of torpedoes.
In between the wars the buildings were used for housing
homeless.
During the occupation German forces seized the area and founded
an experimental station. Not until after the end of the war, it was
revealed that the purpose of the experiments performed by the
German navy where about concealment and warning of radar on
submarines.
In connection with the German capitulation the German submarine
command sank several of their own submarines in Lillehav.
After the war, the old Torpedo Station was used as a refugee
camp.
The old buildings of the Torpedo Station have gone. In the
seventies a residential area was build.
The bunkers at the beach were used in the fifties for
dismantling submarines and bombes.
