This area is for
public collection of Oregon's Official gemstone the Oregon
Sunstone. Please note that this area is surrounded by private
mining claims and public collection is only allowed in the area
outlined by the map at these coordinates. This is an isolated area.
Bring plenty of food and water and make sure you aren't runnintg
low on gas.
The Oregon Sunstone is a labradorite (a
plagioclase
feldspar
mineral). These stones formed and crystallized in lava flows. Over
the years the hard stone around them has eroded away leaving a
number of them exposed on or just below the surface. While
sunstones are found in several locations around the world, Oregon
Suntones are unique due to their inclusion of small copper
crystals. The inclusion of copper gives Oregon Sunstones a unique
range of colors including yellow, red, green, schiller, clear, and
even blue.

sunstone. Include if you would your method of finding it.
4. Post a picture of you and your sunstone
