Geocache Description:

About SideTracked

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy (cos there aren’t many Motorways in Wales!). But what about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at Train Stations.

PADGATE STATION

Padgate station lies to the east of Warrington on the southern route of the Liverpool to Manchester Line.

The station is served by local stopping trains to Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street with an hourly frequency.

The station is fairly quiet, serving just 200 passengers per day, hence it is now unmanned and the old Cheshire Lines Committee station building has been converted to a fish and chip shop and a garden shop.

The station can also be reached from Warrington and Leigh via bus numbers 28 and 28A.

The cache is a micro containing just a logbook and pencil. When replacing the cache, please ensure that it is not visible from the path.

The paths are paved and accessible by wheelchair or pushchair, however the final few metres to the cache are not.
