Geocache Description:

It is a memoral to those who perished in the battle of Narva between the armies of Swedish King Carl XII and the Russian Czar Peter I on November 19, 1700. The Swedish Lion is a replica of a monument which was erected on the westernmost border of Narva in 1936, and it as completely destroyed during World War II. It was reopened on November 18, 2000 to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the battle as well as to denote the friendship and cooperation between present-day Estonia and Sweden.

Mälestusmärk Rootsi lõvi on 19.novembril 1700 Rootsi kuninga Karl XII ja Vene tsaari Peeter I vägede vahel peetud lahingus langenuile. Mälestusmärk on koopia 1936. aastal Narva linna läänepiirile püstitatud mälestusmärgist, mis purustati Teise maailmasõja ajal. Mälestusmärk taasavati 18.novembril 2000 lahingu 300.aastapäeva puhul ja sümboliseerib tänapäeva Eesti ja Rootsi riigi sõprust ja koostööd.
