Placée 2 km au nord-ouest de Brullioles, cette cache est située
dans un bois à une altitude de 818m.
Located 2 km north-west of Brullioles, this cache is situated at an
elevation of 818m in a wood.
Le Mont Pothu avec ses roches basaltiques (appelées communément les
pierres bleues) et la Pierre Pothu traditionnellement associée à un
ancien autel druidique sont auréolés de légendes. Gargantua
s’y serait disputé avec le diable, et la Pierre était reliée
au culte de la fécondité : jusqu’au milieu du XXème siècle,
des jeunes couples venaient y danser, certains de s’attirer
bonheur et prospérité. Vous pouvez vous approcher de la cache de
diverses directions, mais j’ai employé le chemin partant près
du Gonet.
Mont Pothu with its basaltic rocks (commonly called blue stones)
and the Pothu Stone traditionally associated with an old druidic
altar are sacred legends. It is there that Gargantua is said to
have disputed with the devil, and the Stone was connected to the
worship of fertility: until the middle of the XXth century, young
couples came to dance there to be blessed with happiness and
prosperity. You can approach the cache from various directions, but
the path starting from near Le Gonnet is the one that I used.
