Štanjel is one of the most picturesque and oldest settlements in the Karst. Besides its magnificent design and location, its main attractions are: the castle with a permanent exhibition of the renowned painter and graphic artist Lojze Spacal; the Parish Church of St. Daniel with its characteristic lemon-like spire which has become the symbol of Štanjel; the Tower of Kobdilj next to the Ferrari Villa; the Ferrari Garden below the fortified settlement.
Ferrari Garden is one of many legacies left to Štanjel by architect Max Fabiani. It originated as an addition to the Ferrari Villa - a group of medieval buildings along the former East wall around Štanjel, which Fabiani renovated for the Trieste physician Enrico Ferrari and his family after the first world war.

Štanjel je eno najslikovitejših in najstarejših naselij na Krasu. Najopaznejše privlačnosti so, poleg zasnove in lege: grad s stalno zbirko del slovenskega slikarja in grafika Lojzeta Spacala; župnijska cerkev Sv. Danijela s svojim značilnim zvonikom limonaste oblike, ki je postal simbol Štanjela; Kobdiljski stolp poleg Ferrarijeve vile; Ferrarijev vrt.
Ferrarijev vrt se nahaja pod utrjenim naseljem. Kompleks vile z vrtom je nastajal v dvajsetih in tridesetih letih 20. stoletja pod vodstvom arhitekta Maksa Fabianija in je najpomembnejša parkovna ureditev iz časa med obema vojnama pri nas. Lastnik je bil Enrico Ferrari, zdravnik iz Trsta in svak Maksa Fabianija, ki je odkupil večino stavb v stavbnem nizu nad parkom in jih obnovil.
