Since the cache and the footpath and
all the nearby terrain is a
NATIONAL FOREST,
please especially take care of your
environment.
The beautiful valley of Büdöskút is situated approximately
halfway
between Pécs and Orfu. Although it provides comfortable
resting
place, campfire sites and wooden benches for tourists, it is
not
very frequented. The Büdöskút valley is especially rich in
springs giving the finest quality of drinkable mineral
water.
So if you happen to be tired and thirsty, you can refresh
yourself
with great tasting cool natural mineral water.
The Büdöskút spring - after the place was named - is
a
spring of fluctuating water output, it flows only after great
rains.
The richest spring in the valley is the
Feri-forrás,
which coordinates are given as a waypoint.
"Büdöskút" in english means "Stinking Well", has also a legend
among local people.
Back to ancient times, the spring was held by a fierce seven-headed
dragon.
Once a thirsty warrior came to drink from the spring and he
was
attacked by the dragon. They fought long and finally all the
seven
heads of the dragon was cut by the warrior. The dragon's
carcass
fell into the spring thus making the water stinking.
Near the cache you can see the Pantheon of the Baranya
