One of three caches placed in this area. This ridge connects several areas from which you can enter - Simmons Creek, George's Creek, Coal Fork, Point Lick, Witcher Creek, Belle Hollow, and probably a few others. We entered via Simmons Creek, taking Hogpen Hollow Rd up the mountain. All three caches are best found in a 4WD or ATV as most of the roads are not suitable for anything else. Of course, you may also hike in but it will be a long hike. This is a great area for 4-wheeling. We love exploring all the roads and trails, some on the map and some not.
This cache is placed on a narrow off-shoot road that is fairly grown over. There is room to turn around at the top and the road continues on to another, but if you'd rather not take the overgrown trail you may park at the bottom and it's not a long hike up. Whichever way you come in stop before you begin going back down. This road sees little traffic so you should be fine to park in the road while you search for the cache, which is not far from the road. We had trouble getting a good signal here so the coordinates are the average of several attempts, but the cache location should not be hard for a geocacher to spot (difficulty is 2 since not all of the roads in this area are mapped).
You are looking for a medium sized ammo can. This area is open to hunters during hunting season so please re-hide the cache well to prevent it being muggled.
