Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series set at or near churches in the lovely
surroundings of the Shropshire countryside.

We’d like to thank The Washers for conceiving the idea,
initiating the series and inviting other cachers to add to
it.

Christ Church was first opened for divine service in 1847. It was erected partly by subscription and a grand donation of £1000 from Mrs Nunnerley, a benevolent lady of Drayton and a donation of £325 by the aid of the corporated society for building and enlarging churches and chapels. It was constructed in 1847 to the plans of S Pountney & J Smith in Early English Gothic Style using red sandstone. Consisting of a 5 bay nave with a 5 bay south aisle, south porch, a 4 bay north aisle, NW tower and a 2 bay chancel with flanking vestries
