Vrškámen

This natural monument lies in the field on south-east periphery of
Petrovice. This is one of the smallest protected areas in the
country (only 863 square meters). Area is protected from 1977.
The stone is about the size of a prism 3.5x5.5 meters and 320 cm
in height. It consists of porphyritic syenite to syenodiorite.
These rocks have started to cut down in the warm period of Tertiary
to a depth of several dozen meters. At the time, solid cores of
future rocks were created.
Vrškámen, also called the Devils stone, can be classified
as a rocking stone. To deflect the stone from its center of gravity
would surely require unusually large force, because rock is lying
on the ground on too large surface. However, if you accept the idea
that Vrškámen is really a rocking stone, than it would be
the largest one of its kind in the Czech Republic.
There is also an alternative myth version of the stone origin.
There was a stake between the Devil and Mr. Krcín from the nearby
village of Obdenice. Mr. Krcín bet his soul that the Devil would
not build a fortress over the night till cockerow. Mr. Krcín
trained his rooster so, that it would crow just before devil's work
was finished. The angry devil than threw away the last stone he was
carrying on his back. There are still traces of the chain on the
stone where the stone was attached to devil's back...

- estimate the length of the chain trace on the stone from the myth
and find out what symbol is engraved on the south-west part of the
stone. (Symbol does not contail any letters.) Please, send me

Tato prírodní památka se nachází v poli na jihovýchodním okraji
obce Petrovice. Jedná se o jedno z nejmenších chránených
území v zemi (pouhých 863 metru ctverecních). Území požívá
ochrany od roku 1977.
Kámen je približne hranolovitého tvaru o rozmerech 3.5x5.5
metru a výšce 320cm. Je tvoren porfyrickým syenitem až
syenodioritem. Tyto horniny zacaly hloubkove zvetrávat již v
teplém období tretihor do hloubky nekolika desítek metru. V této
dobe se vytvorila i pevná jádra budoucích balvanu.
Vrškámen, nekdy také Certuv kámen, lze zaradit do
kategorie viklanu. K vychýlení kamene z težište by ale
bylo jiste zapotrebí neobycejne velké síly, protože balvan
spocívá na terénu príliš velikou plochou. Pokud však
prijmeme myšlenku, že Vrškámen viklanem je, pak
je nejvetším kamenem tohoto druhu v CR.
Podle povesti sem byl Vrškámen svržen certem,
když stavel Krcínovi tvrz v nedalekých Obdenicích. Tehdy se
cert s Krcínem vsadil o jeho duši, že postaví do
prvního ranního zakokrhání Krcínovi v Obdenicích tvrz. Krcín si ale
vycvicil kohouta, který zakokrhal tesne pred dokoncením díla.
Rozzlobený cert pak zahodil poslední kámen, který na tvrz nesl na
svých zádech, práve na toto místo. Dodnes jsou na kameni patrné
stopy po retezu, kterým mel cert kámen pripoután k zádum...
K uznání logu je treba:
- porídit vaši fotografii s kamenem a GPS. Fotografii
priložte k logu. Tento požadavek je nyní
dobrovolný.
- odhadnout délku stopy po retezu z povesti a zjistit, jaký symbol
je vyrytý na jihozápadní strane balvanu. Hledaný symbol neobsahuje
žádná písmena.
