La Croix Micaud
Certains la nomment croix Micot ; elle fut restaurée en 2006 par l’association des randonneurs Clunisois (http://rando.cluny.free.fr). Elle est située au lieu-dit du Plaisir à la limite des communes de Cluny et la Vineuse.
Somebody call it « la croix Micot » ; it was restored in 2006 by the Association « les randonneurs clunisois » ( http://rando.cluny.free.fr ). It is located at a place called « le plaisir » at the border between the villages of Cluny and La-Vineuse.

De la croix qui marquait ce lieu, il n'y a plus qu'un morceau de pierre érigé au coin d'un buisson. Détruite à la révolution, elle avait été restaurée par Revillet en même temps que celle du Martray en 1806. Elle fût à nouveau cassée par les impériaux en 1814. Sa dernière détérioration date de 1969 par des vandales.
From the cross marking the place, there is only a piece of stone erected at the corner of a bush. Destroyed the revolution, it was restored by Revillet at the same time as the Martray in 1806. It was again broken by the Imperials in 1814. His last date of damage by vandals in 1969
On avait reproduit sur le socle la vieille inscription: "Hic ave crux ille" et la date 1242. La tradition prétend que l'inscription veut dire: "Que tu viennes de ce grand chemin faitral ci ou de ce grand chemin là ou de ce petit sentier, dis un ave à la croix"

Lieu historique, à la limite de Cluny et de la Vineuse, la Croix Micaud est un lieu de passage (col à 486m d'altitude entre Mimont (530m) et le mont Gremoi (554m).Des textes anciens de 1144, nous apprennent qu'en ce lieu était la borne occidentale du 2° ban sacré de l'Abbaye de Cluny.
Historic Site on the edge of Cluny and la-Vineuse , the Cross Micaud is a place of transit (pass at an altitude of 486m between Mimont (530m) and Mount Gremoi (554m). From ancient texts of 1144, we learn that this place was the West Point of the 2nd sacred banns of the Abbey of Cluny
Le ban sacré était un territoire autour de Cluny où il était interdit de construire des maisons fortifiées. Ces mêmes textes nous indiquent qu'à cette époque la route de Mâcon à Charolles sortait de Cluny par la porte Saint Mayeul, puis par celle du merle, passait par Montaudon, le Plaisir et par la croix Micaud où s'embranchait le chemin conduisant à Bezornay par Chemilly et le chemin du Martray. La route empruntait le grand chemin de Tilhomme pour se diriger jusqu'à Charolles.
The sacred banns was an area around Cluny where it was forbidden to build fortified houses. These same texts tell us that at that time the road from macon to Charolles was leaving Cluny by the Saint Mayeul’s door, then by the blackbird, passed by Montaudon, pleasure and the cross Micaud which joined the road from Bezornay to Chemilly and the path leading to Martray. The road took the high path of Tilhomme to join Charolles
Nous savons qu'en 1245 il y eut en ce lieu une rencontre fortuite des paysans du Martray avec le Roi Saint Louis.
De tout temps, cette route par le col de la Croix Micaud pour aller à Cluny sera très fréquentée, malgré les fortes pentes, jusqu'à la construction de la nouvelle route par le col du Loup en 1850.
