Geocache Description:

The cache is located very close to where the lookout used to be. There is an old road to the cache that is partially over grown with brush and a few tree blow downs. Round trip hiking distance is about 1.1 miles. Elevation at the cache is approximately 4644'.

The original lookout was a 2-tree platform crow's nest built in 1915. A 30' pole L-4 tower was built in 1935 and then destroyed in 1962. Nothing is left of the lookout now, except for the footings. Trees have grown up around the area and block any views of the surrounding area. Take forest road 377 north off of state highway 6 and follow the signs to East Dennis. This cache was placed to qualify for the Idaho Forest Fire Lookout Challenge in area 3.
