Geocache Description:

Welcome to Balboa Park. Happy caching. You have to walk down the hill a little bit. It is hard to find a good spot in this area for a cache due to occasional relandscaping. Stay on the uphill side of the fence. GPS signals are a little jumpy here. Use the hint if you need it.

Spreckels Organ Pavilion

John D. and Adolph Spreckels donated the Spreckels Organ, one of the world's largest outdoor pipe organs, to the City of San Diego in 1914 for the Panama-California Exposition. This unique organ contains 4,530 pipes ranging in length from the size of a pencil to 32 feet and is housed in an ornate vaulted structure with highly embellished gables. Since 1917, San Diego has had a civic organist, who performs free weekly Sunday concerts.

The facility hosts an International Organ Festival on Monday evenings at 7:30pm during the summer and the Twilight in the Park Concert Series on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays during the summer at 6:15pm. In addition, the Pavilion is the site of numerous concerts, graduations, weddings and special events throughout the year.

I came out here for the Flash Event with DTN92129. I wanted to plant a cache in this are since a nearby cache was archived. Shouldn't too many muggles in this area, but please keep an eye out. Small plastic container. YOU WILL NEED A WRITING INSTRUMENT.

Please hide as well or better than you found it.
