Geocache Description:

An easy cache, though perhaps not quite as easy as you first though..

NB - this cache was moved June 12 to a new location about 200m to the NE of it's original location. Please replace exactly as you found it. You're looking for a small lock n lock. Much better early warning of muggles at this location.

Dragon Cycle Path, Dragon Road, Dragon Avenue, Dragon Parade and Dragon Road car park (where you may of parked) have a name rooted in history. Harrogate's first inn - 'The Green Dragon' was built (on the site of what is now Mornington Cte.) in the late 1600's for those taking water from the Chalybeate well (St. John's Well - the standalone building on The Stray near the hospital on Wetherby Road). An article extolling the virtues of said local water was published in the British Medical Journal in 1881 entitled "Note on the Aluminous Chalybeate Well of Harrogate". The article speculates on it being a treatment for everything from "loss of tone of the pharynx and larynx" to skin problems to diarrhea and dysentery.. There really is something in the water round these parts!
